Bio

Cora Waring is a graduate of Michigan State University and a 2024-2026 Lighthouse Writers Workshop Book Project fellow. Her essay, Dog As..., was a finalist for Fourth Genre's 2020 Steinberg Memorial Essay Prize. 

Cora is currently working on a memoir exploring daughterhood, sisterhood, and the roles unhealthy family systems force children to play.

Cora has performed on World Channel's Stories from the Stage, as well as on the show's inaugural Facebook Live. In 2018, she nabbed second place in MassMouth's Big Mouth Off storytelling competition. In 2020, she created 100 days worth of short, often comedic, videos about parenting during a pandemic, which aired on NECN Boston. 

Cora is an avid fragrance enthusiast and hopes to attend perfumery school one day. She lives with her husband and three children outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
